The best partner and channel marketing events in 2026 and 2027 (and the ones to skip)

Most partner and channel marketers attend two too many events a year and skip the one that would have actually moved their pipeline. The conference calendar is crowded, the audiences overlap, and the vendors paying for the booths are not the ones reading the agenda. Here is the North American shortlist for 2026 and 2027, sorted by what each event actually offers and who should actually go.
TL;DR. The best partner or channel marketing events in 2026 and 2027 are not the biggest ones, they are the ones that match your role and your pipeline target. Catalyst 26 (Brooklyn, August 2026) is the flagship for partnership and alliance leaders. Channel Partners Conference and MSP Summit (Las Vegas, March 2027) is the flagship for the IT channel. Ultimate Partner Live! (Reston, October 2026) is the must-attend for the Microsoft ecosystem. Directions North America (New Orleans, April 2027) is the only event most Business Central partners should buy a flight for. Everything else is adjacent, and adjacency is only worth funding when the offer compounds.
How to choose a 2026 or 2027 event without burning MDF on the wrong booth
Before you commit to a single registration, run the event through four filters. This is the same intake my team uses on partner clients.
Who is the actual audience? Read past speaker decks and attendee lists. If the room is Microsoft partner principals and you sell into AWS practices, you bought the wrong ticket.
Is the event built for sponsors or attendees? Sponsor-heavy events have a different rhythm than community-led events. Both can work, but they require different goals (booth pipeline vs. relationship deepening).
Does the agenda match your role? Catalyst-style strategy events do not serve a partner manager looking for tactical scripts. ChannelCon-style ecosystem events do not serve a CRO looking for executive peers.
Will the spend survive the quarter you fund it in? We argued the broader case in why MDF marketing campaigns need to outlive the quarter. If the booth does not produce assets and intros you use for three more quarters, the spend is wasted.
The flagship partner and channel marketing events in 2026
Catalyst 26 (Brooklyn, NY, August 25 to 27, 2026)
The Partnership Leaders flagship. Catalyst is where partnership, alliance, and ecosystem GTM leaders go to compare playbooks, recruit, and pressure-test their motion. Best for partnership executives, founding partner-ops hires, and CROs running an ecosystem-led revenue motion.
Curated by Vince Menzione for the Microsoft ecosystem. Agenda is dense on Partner Center optimization, co-sell mechanics, GTM transformation, and the AI marketplace shift. Best for Microsoft partner executives, alliance leads, and partner marketing principals who need a single room with peers running the same motion.
Canada's flagship SaaS and AI event. Heavier on distribution and growth than on partner marketing specifically, but the partner track has matured. Best for Canadian SaaS founders and operators, and US partner programs expanding into Canadian channel. Registration runs around $1,179 CAD.
CMA Virtual Summit (online, annual October 2026)
The Channel Marketing Association's virtual summit. The canonical reference content on MDF, partner engagement, and PRM, available without a travel budget. Best as the first event you send a new partner marketing hire to. Lowest cost-to-attend bar on this list. Also, be on the lookout for the annual CMA Marketing Summit 2027 sometime in April.
A multi-city digital marketing tour, with 2026 stops in Minneapolis (August), Philadelphia (September), and Atlanta (October). Best for B2B marketers running partner-funded demand campaigns who need to upskill on brand and content. Skip if you are partner ops or alliance leadership. Pricing runs roughly $495 to $995 by city.
The flagship partner and channel marketing events in 2027
Channel Partners Conference and Expo + MSP Summit (Las Vegas, NV, March 15 to 18, 2027)
The largest IT channel and MSP event in North America, run by Informa. Agenda is heavy on AI in the channel, channel velocity, GTM, and sales enablement. Best for MSPs, VARs, distributors, and the vendors who sell into them. If you sell partner programs into the IT channel, you go to this one or you fall behind.
Directions North America 2027 (New Orleans, LA, April 18 to 20, 2027)
A community-only event for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central partners. Tightly scoped, tightly curated, agenda covers ERP, AI agents, and Business Central growth. Best for Business Central partner principals and partner marketers running BC-specific campaigns. Outsiders are politely turned away, which is part of why the value is high.
ChannelCon 2027 (San Diego, August 3-5, 2026)
CompTIA's annual conference for the IT channel and the certified workforce around it. Best for partners working across multiple vendor programs who need cross-vendor benchmark data and a workforce-development view.
Content Marketing World 2027 (Informa, dates to be announced)
The canonical content marketing event, historically in Cleveland or San Diego. Not partner-marketing-specific, but the demand and partnerships tracks have grown. Best for partner marketers who own content production or syndication and for ISVs investing in long-cycle partner content. Pricing has run $899 to $3,000 in recent years.
Unbound 2027 (HubSpot, Boston, September 16–18)
HubSpot's marketing flagship. Best for partner marketers running HubSpot-built motions, agencies in the HubSpot partner program, and B2B teams investing in inbound.
SaaStr AI Annual 2027 (San Francisco Bay, May 11-12, 2027)
The SaaS founders and operators flagship, now AI-anchored. Best for partner marketers at SaaS companies pitching co-marketing budgets internally, and for agencies needing a US SaaS network. Less relevant if your primary motion is the IT channel.
Adjacent B2B marketing events worth a partner marketer's time
A few events on the list are not channel-specific but pay off for partner marketers who own messaging, demand, or content. Drive 2027 (Exit Five) is the sharpest B2B marketing community event, best for senior practitioners. DigiMarCon and TECHSPO run multi-city US series throughout the year on digital and tech marketing. SocialWest 2027 in Calgary covers social and digital for Canadian marketers. Elevate Festival (Toronto, September 22 to 24, 2026) is Canada's largest tech festival, useful for partner marketers building Canadian pipeline. PMR Pre-Day (Partner Marketing and Revenue) is the working session most worth catching as a co-located add-on when it appears on the calendar.
How to maximize MDF and travel budget across the 2026 to 2027 calendar
If you are funding registrations or booths against MDF, here is the operating sequence my team runs on intake.
Pick one flagship and one adjacent event per year. One channel-specific (Catalyst, Ultimate Partner Live, Channel Partners, Directions) and one B2B marketing (Drive, Content Marketing World, Digital Summit, Unbound). Two events done well outperform six done poorly.
Map the event to a named target list before you book the flight. Ultimate Partner Live and Channel Partners both publish attendee directories. We covered the broader planning rhythm in the strategic partner marketing calendar template.
Commit to a co-built asset, not just a booth. Co-author a session, co-publish a teardown, or co-host a private dinner. The asset compounds. The booth does not. We made the same case for content collaboration in what is co-marketing in B2B.
Bring a QBR-ready report back. Every event should produce a meetings list, a co-built asset, and a 30-day follow-up plan. We built the template in our partner marketing QBR agenda.
Audit MDF utilization across the calendar, not per event. If you are funding the same booth two years in a row with the same agenda, you are funding inertia. We unpacked the misallocation pattern in rethinking MDF utilization.
The best partner and channel marketing events: The bottom line
The best partner and channel marketing events in 2026 and 2027 are the ones that match your role, your motion, and your pipeline target. For partnership and alliance leaders, that is Catalyst 26. For the Microsoft ecosystem, that is Ultimate Partner Live and Directions. For the IT channel, that is Channel Partners Conference and ChannelCon. Everything else is adjacent, and adjacency is only worth funding when the offer compounds.
If you want a second set of eyes on which two events your team should commit to in 2026 and 2027, send the list over.
My team picks event calendars for partner programs every quarter and can tell you in 20 minutes which one is going to compound on your pipeline and which one is a polite tax.
